Mohinder Suresh Heroes FanVid - "They" by Jem
*sings* Tis the season to be jolly... fa la la la la, la la la la...
Even though this isn't technically a christmas song, it sounds christmasy to me with all the choral "ba ba ba" in it. Anyway, it's a nice reflection on the spiritualism that comes with that culture.
This video is a reflection on the Heroes character of Mohinder Suresh showing the relationship he has with his parents and co-workers, the quest to discover if his father's theories on enhanced genetics are true, and the assistance he receives from Eden and Sanjog (the little boy). Basically it sums up Mohinder's storyline.
SO, without further ado, let me present "They" by Jem (Mohinder Suresh's first character vid)

I think the fact that they all have these fragmented lives with occassional collisions makes it all the more fun. These guys don't know each other yet and unlike normal comics this isn't one huge association out to save the world. They are all doing their small bit to save the world and I love that about them. Especially in circumstances like the DL/Hiro run-in where they don't even know they are working together XD
You know, despite Mohinder and Peter being in the same scenes together, I actually focused more on them as individual characters.
And yet at the same time you could see how parallel their lives were in a way. At that point in time, both Mohinder and Peter were searching for something more and well then there's the daddy-issues. Mohinder's cynicsm would be in a way worse maybe? Or so I thought, because here is a genetic expert who just that morning BELEIVED and yet now that Peter is there is not very impressed. Also I have noticed Peter isn't at all bitter about the fact that he doesn't seem to have his own special power and says easily "without others I'm not really anything".
I am very interested to see where Mohinder's story goes from here, as for Simone yeah I won't go there.
I actually want to know what it is Eden knew about Sylar. He's got some anti-bullet thing going on there (Matt shot him twice and he walked away, and Sylar told Eden that she knew the gun wouldn't work on him).
I truly did not pick up on this! I just thought he was using his telekinetic powers to deflect the bullets or something. I need to mull this over hmm.
and hmmm I can't remember where we were talking about Isaac/Eden now but I want to talk about it s'more so I shall just do it here :D
I mentioned that I wouldn't be averse to Isaac/Eden but you mentioned a sibling dynamic and now I'm thinking that wouldn't be all that bad either [LOL I am fickle]. I think I don't care what they could've been as long as they interacted! They just seemed so comfortable with each other and the way she looked after him kind of endeared me to him. And since you mention 'mischevous' that's what siblings do right? Have fun while the parents are away.
I really do recommend checking out the graphic novels. HRGMs emotions at Eden's death...no one can call him evil. He loved Eden as much as Claire. Also, how did the GNs contradict Isaac's story? *curious*

Uh huh, that's what I was referring to. I loved that. I was bouncing and squeeing and all in that situation (damn I was more excited over that than the Peter/Claire thing at Homecoming LOL :$ )
Mohinder's cynicsm would be in a way worse maybe? Or so I thought, because here is a genetic expert who just that morning BELEIVED and yet now that Peter is there is not very impressed.
Um, here's where it gets confusing. See I've always believed that Mohinder was cynical of his father's work, and he must have believed there was something there worth him getting killed over. So he's gone to check it out, and become more wrapped up in the mystery at the same time finding love for the thing his father was so passionate about (and this is what is conflicting within him because of his own beliefs that his father's work was pure fantasy). The ONLY thing that breaks from that is the flashback where Mohinder had read the book and was all excited about it (which made me go "Hmmm then why is he yelling at daddy later about running to NY for these theories?"
Peter isn't at all bitter about the fact that he doesn't seem to have his own special power and says easily "without others I'm not really anything".
Peter is used to not being important. He took great pride in the fact he did the nursing thing on his own without his father's money or support. He's a giver, not a taker, so in a different light you could look at it as if he's saying "If there's noone to help, then I have no purpose". It's what he lives for. He doesn't want to be special (well not desperately like Sylar), he just wants to help.
I mentioned that I wouldn't be averse to Isaac/Eden but you mentioned a sibling dynamic and now I'm thinking that wouldn't be all that bad either [LOL I am fickle].
LOL I meant Isaac/Simone (I was trying to work out what the deal was between them to start with). I think I saw Eden/Isaac more as teacher/student - or at least that's what I had hoped to see.
Where are the graphics novels again? Think I lost the link :(

Oh I so know that feeling.
The ONLY thing that breaks from that is the flashback where Mohinder had read the book and was all excited about it (which made me go "Hmmm then why is he yelling at daddy later about running to NY for these theories?"
See, I think those were early days and Mohinder must have idolised his father back then. But once his father started pushing him away he most likely started believing in what the other genetic professors were saying. Had his father chosen to include him I think he would've stood up for him.
There is a lot of "to believe or not to belive" that must have gone through his mind and I think that for the most time the only reason he didn't was because he was bitter and angry and that as a scientist he likely did think that his father's theories could be right. After all when we first meet him, he is talking about evolution and abilities!
He's a giver, not a taker, so in a different light you could look at it as if he's saying "If there's noone to help, then I have no purpose". It's what he lives for. He doesn't want to be special (well not desperately like Sylar), he just wants to help.
Sounds about right. I think at first I liked Peter only because he was Nathan's sibling but I am coming to appreciate him for what he is now.
Isaac/Simone
As siblings? Seriously? I like the idea of Eden/Isaac siblings better :p Well, we could retain teacher/student with the sibling dynamic 'cause Eden could be the elder sister or something. *sigh* How I wish she would come back.
oh and here's the link:

...the Peter novel is a bit...weird for me, I haven't had the chance to digest what it means for Peter's character yet.

Oh good work :D That's what I needed to sort out my mind hehe. Thanks *hugz* I'll go with that.
...the Peter novel is a bit...weird for me, I haven't had the chance to digest what it means for Peter's character yet.
Thanx for the link! :D I just read the Peter one. Looks like a normal hospital bed... *doesn't want to be wrong about HRGM :$* UM... okay so I think that's the inner turmoil going on there where Peter suddenly thinks he's the cause of NY going KABOOM (amusing to see him picture himself like Superman). Of course that's another Peter-dream-that-won't-happen cause Nathan wasn't there so he COULD fly. Can u imagine them playing tag team? LOL That's be good.
Um if u wanna be literall about it we could wonder who'd be in such a protective suit - radioactive man so he doesn't radiate? Invisible man so he can be seen? Or maybe there really is some mimic shapeshifter person out there who IS pretending to be Peter and that's where this all comes from. When I looked at the shadow of that dinosaur in Isaac's painting it looked more manlike (well I said Peter-like LOL) than reptilian. *taps desk* interesting.
Now I think I'll go read the other ones :D

bah! my head just exploded with those possibilities you just mentioned.

Oh, hey, I also checked out the other ones I missed too, and in the Hiro one he rips the front page of his comic off to make a crane. And on that front page is the same image of Peter in his Superman suit but lifting a car! So, hmm, that'd mean he's near Jessica and stuff. Think there's definately a Super!Peter in the future.
Oh and I've been stumbling onto some spoilers today (bad peeps, didn't think there WAS anymore LOL) and they said something about Peter being massively effected by his brush with Sylar and the powers there, so I'm starting to think that's the cause of his illness... though it bears explaining by the producers cause I'm still non-the-wiser.

heh that's actually a reference to the first ever issue of the superman comic which had the same cover [or so I have read somewhere, possibly wikipedia] but I like the way you make connections.
Super!Peter as in with spandex and everything? Hmmm this could be er interesting.
Brush with Sylar making Peter ill makes me think how he has a thing for *fixing* stuff so if he takes people's brains there must be something wrong with said people and if he is assimilating whatever's in their brains into himself then he's getting worse and if he's getting worse then Peter being near him makes him bad which means that dream could be of Sylar as the threat and Peter only seeing it because he had a brush with Peter.
I'll shoot that theory down just by saying that Claire and the other heroes would never look at Sylar in a sympathetic way. Anyway, the flash of idea was good for the 5 seconds it took my brain to rationalize.
no subject
No LOL Milo's not going to wear spandex. I think he already put his foot down about that one ;)
Yeah see my friend and I have this running theory that Sylar's original ability was that he can see things that are wrong with ppl (or that they're "broken"), and those are the ppl he's going after - ala Charlie with her illness, and Claire's mom told her she had a "genetic disorder" also. I don't think he's following the Suresh list because he wouldn't have made the same mistake Peter did if he was chasing by name. However my friend pointed out that he had caught a glimpse of "the map" and made his own (which was much more diverse and detailed I remember Mohinder pointing out). Nathan was on Sylar's map too! :| Does that mean there's something wrong with him? :( I dunno... things just don't make enough sense at the moment. But if Sylar's ill then Peter could be too. Maybe THAT is what they were trying to prove with Peter picking up Matt's headache!!!! K *quietens down now*
And not a bad theory, it's like my theory :P I agree *nods*
no subject
If sylar's ill because he's taking out all the 'bad' stuff and Peter has a brish with Sylar and through his abilities somehow gets ill too hmmmm
no subject
Yeah if Sylar's absorbing all the badness I guess he would be sharing it with Peter as well. So yeah every possibility he could be ill through that. And at least they've kinda promised to explain that so maybe we will know by Feb next year. :)

Oh oops forgot to answer this :$ Um... in the finding out about his power thing. The novels said he painted a girl that got hit by a bus which he had showing at an art gallery, but I believe the show said the bus with the number in the paper and whatever was going on there was the first predictive painting that he had done (or at least discovered what he had done).
