I actually haven't seen Ep 15 yet so this was all done up to and including ep 14. And still I kept thinking afterwards "Oh, I didn't put that in!" Anyways... I hope you guys enjoy.

This video is about Sylar (aka Gabriel Gray). Though I nicknamed it "the blender" because of how many times I had to layer in this song (I honestly didn't know it really was a challenge to make a vid to), it is in actual fact a portrait of a serial killer. Sylar is thirsty for power, he wants to be seen as special. He has a different way of viewing the world, slightly askew and distorted, with the self-imposed ability that he can "fix things". This video shows his origins, his battles, his skill and the way he is able to overcome the obstacles that he has faced.

yay I just saw it on YouTube and wow it's one of the darker ones you've done. It suits Sylar perfectly with the blood everywhere and the angst and the menacing atmosphere prevelant in every shot. And again a brilliant song choice because it's got this intensity to it - I can't explain but wow am blown away by your awesome creativity again.

My fav bit has to be "the blast is beautiful, no sunshine" bit because It So Fits with the bomb and the way he turned off that light.

Sylar is dark *nods* But damn it was fun. I had to keep trying to remember everything he'd done and which episodes they were in, even b4 Zach Quinto came into the role. But I think I shaped up everything we know pretty well. And LOL forgot to mention that it was not just about Sylar but his little cockroach friend too hehe But thank u *hugz*

Yeah originally I had this Peter & Sylar thing in my head (or really all the characters who could pose a threat) but it shaped up nicely with what I used for Sylar. I was a little ambiguous over using the explosion cause as far as we know it has nothing to do with Sylar, but I blended it (though it seems non-apparent watching it) to look as if he were watching from the window. Ah, well, it's all about destruction anyway and that's something he has a liking for. And you're right, the light tricks worked really well in the vid too *nods*

No, that's exactly what I thought when I saw that actually. It seemed as though Sylar was watching it and thinking "the blast is beautiful" which I interpreted as him taking comfort in destruction, destiny and doom. It was all quite moving really.

She said someone had to repay Linderman. I think she forgot that he's been repayed. And, um, guy Matt was protecting - wasn't he the one who took the money off DL? So I'm guessing from the mindread that Linderman never got it. So in that way he hasn't been repaid. And that's why he's sent Jessica after him.

wow. Wow. WOW!!!

First of all *mwah* back because this is so sweet and not to mention flippin' awesome.

And now on to the vid, which I have so far watched three times already (yayz!) because it's so awesome. You did an amazing job capturing his story from what we've so far seen in the show. The song title and lyrics are very fitting with specific scenes you chose and you really do him justice.

Quick overview while watching:

Beautiful quiet start, where he's near dead.

"Have the feeling there is something that I miss" featuring a scene from before he knnwos he's 'special'

0.56 minutes best combination scene & music!!

"dripping of my finger tips" Opening Jackie's skull, awesome!

"not afraid to die" him 'dying' when he falls of the school with Peter.

2.20m where the music gets loud and he kills Jackie? Brilliance.

"The blast is beautiful" NYC exploding, I would think that if it wouldn't kill him he'd def. watch how other people die and find the blast beautiful

Overal: A+++++++ So very awesome ^_^


Some other things I thought of while watching:

- OMG I totally forgot Mohinder actually saw Sylar killing! Do you remember what episode that was?

- I barely remember anything Sylar from before Zach because I wasn't rly into the character by then (I watched too many episodes in too short a time to be able to fully focus on all chars), but this vid helped me remember a lot of good stuff ^_^

- Also, do you remember the poll you had up oncre? What character's power(s) everyone wanted? I picked Sylar's aakjh;akga;kfa;akjsd!!! I think I even said back then I didn't necessarily liked the character but just his power, and now I like his char too! It's mean to be... (ahum so yeah, ignore that last part...)

Yah I LOVED that part. It just worked so well. There were a lot of lyrical things which I actually had visuals for which was awesome. "Not afraid to die" I viewed more as a Peter thing, because he knew and he still went, and then I showed the scene where Sylar was almost dead too interestingly.

THAT... you know what? I realised doing this that I LOVE the way they shoot Heroes - there's so many sweeping camera angles and super zooms (like in that time frame) that it totally complimented the music and its just awesome. The blast *nods* worked really well cause I wasn't sure originally whether I could make it work, but it turned out great and like he was watching it happen outside the window :D

Jules!!! I know I'm late to this party, but I've just seen your video and I'm really blown away...

I didn't think you could top the Petrellis fix you vid...but this is the best one you've done so far IMO

The song choice, was amazing...I don't even know wht the song is about, because almost every line of the lyrics, and the mood of it was Sylar, speaking in the first person. My favourite parts aside from the overall feel of it was the clock ticking, dripping finger matched with those scenes, and the slow motion lyrics for Sylar approaching Mrs Bennet, and the door slamming,and blast being matched with the bomb

I really like the threads you put in too, setting up with Peter as an arch enemy, yet similar with a weird close connection. The quest for Claire and the tussles with HRG, Sylat turning the tables, but I also loved listening to what he is saying, he can do anything, and yet he is weirdly detached from the rest of the world...the song helped there

You really are a true artist jules, I really loved it. I hope when Peter goes through his dark path at the end of season one, that you'd do me a Peter vid showing his journey, I would love that, and I never make requests, but I trust you with it

I will email you with a few questions about the challenge for the mood themes, but for a time frame, it will be after the show finishes this season, then we'll have tons of footage and time to do it...

Thanks hon! *hugz* I don't ever try to top myself, I just try to bring new elements to a vid everytime I do one. I like to challenge myself, and I don't like being stuck doing the same thing over and over again because not only would I bore myself but other ppl as well (and they'd probably think I had limited capabilities - I wouldn't like to hear "it's all the same".)

It gave an interesting first person view of Sylar, didn't it? And I'm glad I was able to cross-reference everything over a few characters - not only was Sylar thinking he could do anything to anyone, but capturing that look from HRG when he had Sylar caged - the moment he believed he could do anything to Sylar. Originally the "you can't leave" I was going to show the control Sylar exhibited over other ppl, but in the end I went with another parrallel where he instead was trapped and unable to get out. And "another soldier not afraid to die" I put in because Peter knew he was going to die, yet he still went on his mission, but turtle saw a Sylar angle in that as well. So it's interesting to see that not only were the songs and clips layered, but the story and characters behind it as well.

Um I would do a Peter vid but the trouble is finding the right song - both lyrically and mood wise its a challenge. I do however hope that by the end of the season something will generate (hell, someone might even release something I've never heard of that suits) and I can get something done. Anyway, the rate I'm going with my ideas of vidding characters and pairings, sure enough I'll get around to him by then ;) LOL And being that Peter is so high on my favourite characters list, it's likely he won't leave me alone. Plus the very fact u asked will have Milo sitting in the back of my mind going "find me". So, all in all, I can't promise anything but I'll try. :) Besides, I feel like I gotta repay you for the valentines gifts. :$

This is incredible! Snow Patrol is my favorite band, and this is one of my favorite songs by them. Your editing is amazing - I love how you match the scenes to the lyrics.
